In the midst of the war unleashed between La Unión and La Anti Unión in the Barrio Bravo of Tepito, Mexico City, at least six deaths have been reported in the area. It all started with the assassination of Andrik Herrera, followed by a series of retaliations between the factions.
After Herrera's death, apparently at the hands of La Anti Unión, two young individuals involved with La Unión were shot while performing a religious ritual. Subsequently, another member of La Unión, Angelo Daop Méndez, was shot dead in his car. These events have triggered an escalation of violence in the area, causing fear among residents.
In response to these crimes, the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) deployed more than two hundred agents in the Morelos neighborhood, where most of the clashes have occurred. The SSC has intensified its patrols and preventive actions to control the situation and ensure the safety of the inhabitants.
Local authorities have called for calm and requested the cooperation of citizens to report any suspicious activities. Police presence has been reinforced in the area, with constant patrols and immediate attention to reported incidents. An official statement emphasized that there is a goal to eradicate the violence generated by the territorial dispute between the rival cartels.
The chronic violence between La Unión and La Anti Unión in Tepito has claimed lives and has plunged the community into fear. The rivalry for control of the territory has unleashed a spiral of revenge and murders that keep the authorities and the local population on edge.
