Mayor Mijes criticizes lack of government support

The mayor of Escobedo, Mijes Llovera, expressed his dissatisfaction with the government of Samuel García, mentioning that despite having exercised nearly 450,000 million pesos in the first three years, only 200 million pesos have been provided for state works. The meeting of mayors at the Palacio de Cantera, held over three weeks ago, has highlighted the lack of financial support from state authorities towards municipalities.

Mijes Llovera pointed out that the amount received represents less than 1% of the budget allocated during that period. According to what was revealed, the mayors of the 4T met with the treasurer, Carlos Garza, who ruled out the possibility of future support until the Budget 2025 is in place. Mayor Mijes criticized the state government's attitude towards municipalities, especially Escobedo, considering that a change in mindset and greater attention to municipal responsibilities is needed.

During a forum at the Facultad Libre de Derecho, Mijes Llovera emphasized the lack of a municipalist focus in state administration, showing disdain for municipal needs. Other municipal representatives such as the mayor of San Nicolás, Daniel Carrillo, and the legal advisor of Apodaca, Félix González, also criticized the lack of support and coordination from the state government to address issues such as the maintenance of storm drainage managed by Agua y Drenaje. Together, they denounced that the support received represents only .0005% of the state budget.
