Cynthia López Castro Resigns from PRI Amid Political Turmoil

The former PRI senator, Cynthia López Castro, clarified that she has not had conversations with the Green Party, PAN, or Morena. According to her words to Azucena Uresti, for now, she is evaluating her next steps after separating from the Institutional Revolutionary Party. Regarding the criticisms she received for her interaction with Adán Augusto López, she explained that the exchange originated when she was trying to access the Senate podium, an action that was blocked by the official.

About her resignation from the PRI, López Castro expressed that it was motivated by her disagreement with "Alito" Moreno and the direction of the party. She emphasized that after 21 years of membership, her cycle had come to an end due to significant differences she had with the current leadership of the party. She mentioned feeling sorrow for the transformation that the PRI has undergone, far from its origins close to the people and the social causes it used to defend.

After accusing the PRI of a political lynching, Cynthia López Castro expressed her commitment to continue working for the citizenship, regardless of her resignation from the tricolor. Although until now she has not had contacts with any party related to the Fourth Transformation, she did not rule out the possibility of joining Morena in the future. The former senator firmly rejected the violent political campaign against her and assured that, if given the opportunity, she would vote against the constitutional supremacy ruling that was the subject of controversy.
