
The president of the Judicial Branch in Nuevo León, Arturo Salinas Garza, presented the budget of the agency in the local Congress. He requested an amount of 3.6 billion pesos, similar to the one submitted for 2024 and not approved by the tacit reallocation proposed by the Executive. This represents an increase of 1 billion pesos compared to the request for 2023.
Salinas Garza stated that the resignations of ministers before the closing of the call do not concern them, as it is an option that indicates they do not wish to participate and is more a matter of political pressure. His focus is on working with lawmakers to carry out a reform and harmonize the constitutional bases. He emphasized the importance of being leaders in the administration of justice and not going back 20 years in this regard.
Regarding his relationship with Governor Samuel García, Salinas Garza expressed his intention to meet to discuss the 2025 Budget. He clarified that there is no conflict, as they are only doing their job and are open to dialogue in a state of law. He highlighted the need to modernize technologically to efficiently manage the increasing number of cases in a growing population.
The president also mentioned the project of Juan Luis González Alcántara Carrancá about judicial reform at the federal level and the possibility of popular elections in the Judicial Branch. He pointed out that the concern lies in the feasibility of conducting popular elections for these positions. Salinas Garza emphasized the importance of expanding family visitation centers to provide more efficient service to families, eliminating the complications they face by having to travel to distant venues.
Regarding the specific needs of the requested budget, Salinas Garza detailed that it would be allocated to the rehabilitation of facilities in different municipalities, progress in technology and innovation, and the expansion of family visitation centers.
