By noon on Wednesday, the Senate announced that it had received the resignations of eight ministers of the Supreme Court. According to the data, of the 928 existing magistracies, 503 have declined, which represents a percentage of 54.2%. Additionally, of the 572 federal judges, 342 have resigned, equivalent to 59.79%.

According to the lottery conducted by the Senate, in 2025 the election for half of the judicial positions is scheduled, totaling 464 magistracies and 286 federal courts. Judges and magistrates who have not resigned will have an automatic pass to participate in the election, while the remaining positions will correspond to new candidates.

Electoral adviser Arturo Castillo has predicted that, on average, citizens will encounter around 400 candidacies in this judicial electoral process.
