Governor Sergio Céspedes Peregrina has called on the involved parties to respect the authorities' decision to contribute to the necessary stability in the region. Following the ruling of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of the Federation (TEPJF), it has been announced that the Municipal Councils designated by the Congress of Puebla will remain in office until extraordinary elections are held in March 2025.
The TEPJF's decision has annulled the resolutions of the Regional Chamber that ordered the reinstatement of Juan Lira Maldonado and Marco Antonio Valencia Ávila as mayors of Chignahuapan and Venustiano Carranza, respectively. In light of this situation, the Secretariat of Governance of Puebla indicated that it will maintain close supervision in both municipalities.
Governor Céspedes Peregrina has expressed his respect for the tribunal's decision and assured that his administration will be attentive to the stability in Chignahuapan and Venustiano Carranza to preserve social peace. In this regard, he emphasized the commitment of the Secretariat of Governance, led by Javier Aquino, to promote social peace in these localities and to prevent any confusion or situation of ungovernability.
