Morena in Jalisco Reflects on Achievements and Challenges

The Morena Hope Group in the Congress of the State of Jalisco met to assess its actions over the past three years. In an emotional event, the legislators reflected on the achievements made and the challenges to come. The group coordinator, José María “Chema” Martínez, highlighted the group's commitment to initiatives aimed at benefiting the most vulnerable sectors of the population.

During this period, the group allocated more than 800 million pesos to combat poverty and marginalization. They focused on promoting dignified housing, ensuring gender-responsive treatment for femicide cases, and presenting concrete proposals for the benefit of citizens. Despite the obstacles faced, significant victories were celebrated that made a difference.

Deputy Leticia Pérez emphasized the importance of being agents of change and fighting corruption. She expressed her conviction that transformation is inevitable and that it is necessary to persist despite resistance. For her part, legislator Yussara Canales from Vallarta reaffirmed her commitment to honesty and transparency in politics, advocating to be an effective change factor in society.

Deputy Ángela Gómez Ponce shared her vision regarding the closure of this legislative cycle, highlighting that despite adversities, the group remained firm in defending its principles. She celebrated the achievements made in bringing visibility to indigenous peoples, protecting the rights of searching mothers, strengthening penalties for child abuse, and combating corruption in public services. She stated that although only four members remain in this final stage, this number represents a triumph rather than a defeat.

Throughout these three years, the group faced challenges and resistance, but always maintained its integrity and commitment to citizens. Although the majority did not always stand by them, they continued to act in accordance with their principles and values, demonstrating that the fight for a fairer and more equitable country is a constant and necessary task.
