Cynthia López Castro Joins Morena Party in Mexico

Cynthia López Castro, who recently joined the Morena bench, expressed her gratitude to coordinator Adán Augusto for the support provided. In her statements, López Castro reaffirmed her commitment to continue building a better Mexico, highlighting the importance of unity, principles, and commitment.

López Castro's joining of Morena was considered "irrelevant" by the president of the PRI, Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, who indicated that the former PRI politician's decision to join the ruling party only generated "messages and smokescreens." López Castro, for her part, had previously announced her decision to join the project led by President Claudia Sheinbaum on social media.

Senator López Castro, known for criticizing Morena's educational policies and the López Obrador administration, has maintained a firm stance regarding her change and has rejected criticism about her departure from the PRI. Despite the decrease in the number of senators following her departure, López Castro emphasized that her new bench is working solidly with 14 members.

Cynthia López Castro's political transition from the PRI to Morena occurred after her exit from the PRI bench, motivated in part by differences with Moreno Cárdenas and criticism received for her absence in an important vote. López Castro justified her decision based on alleged "differences" and denounced political violence against her.

During the Senate session where her entry into the Morena bench was formalized, Cynthia López Castro was warmly welcomed and joined a legislative block of 87 members, also receiving support from Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez. The former PRI member shared her gratitude towards Adán Augusto López Hernández, coordinator of Morena, for his support and affection, reiterating her commitment to work for the country.
