The governor of Guanajuato, Libia García, spoke out regarding the armed attack in Querétaro last Saturday, November 9, where 10 people lost their lives. García communicated that after the event, she immediately contacted the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri González, to propose the reactivation of interstate security meetings that include Michoacán, Querétaro, and Guanajuato.
Regarding the possible involvement of organized crime groups from Guanajuato in the incident, the governor preferred not to enter into controversies over the figures, especially after learning that one of the vehicles involved in the attack bore plates from Guanajuato.
García mentioned that there is currently no specific alert at the borders between Querétaro and Guanajuato, but confirmed that police operations could intensify in these areas. Municipalities such as Apaseo, Celaya, and Coroneo, which border Querétaro, have recently experienced significant security events.
Additionally, a working meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday for strategic coordination on security issues. The governor expressed the need to establish a regional strategy in the Bajío similar to what is being implemented in Guanajuato at the municipal level.
Libia García emphasized that the CONFIA strategy included securing the entrances and exits of the state, highlighting the importance of ensuring security at the borders.
