Rogelio Ramírez de la O Ratified as Secretary of Finance

Rogelio Ramírez de la Orindía protests this Wednesday before the full session of the Chamber of Deputies as Secretary of Finance for the new administration of Claudia Sheinbaum, repeating the position he held since July 2021 in the previous government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador. The doctor in Economics from the University of Cambridge in England expressed gratitude for being ratified and highlighted Sheinbaum's trust, emphasizing the responsibility that the position entails.

"I appreciate the trust to ratify the work team that accompanies me, a group of economists, technicians, and professionals committed to the economic development of Mexico,” added Ramírez de la O. He emphasized the importance of his role in two consecutive governments with a common vision of economic policy focused on the active role of the State in collective well-being.

The ratification of Ramírez de la O's position and those of 11 other Treasury officials came unexpectedly for the deputies, who faced the urgency of fulfilling the process before the deadline of November 15 for the submission of the 2025 economic package proposal to Congress. This led PAN deputies to argue against the designation due to the rush with which it was carried out.

After the ratification of Ramírez de la O, the following Treasury officials were also confirmed in their positions: Edgar Abraham Amador Zamora, Antonio Martínez Dagnino, Bertha María Elena Gómez Castro, Grisel Galeano García, and Gari Gevijoar Hernández González, among others. Each of them formally assumed their position in the Treasury team under the new administration.
