In the meeting of governors from Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, and Coahuila, three relevant aspects were addressed: the creation of an Inter-State Police, attention to the migrant flow due to the change of government in the United States, and direct actions against criminal groups to deter crime.
The governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez, highlighted the intention to establish the Inter-State Police, which would operate in the three states with the aim of reducing criminal activity. An operations base is planned in Colombia with the participation of special army units to provide support.
Additionally, the creation of a shared intelligence group among the three states was agreed upon, with the collaboration of the army and the National Guard, to implement a special security model in the northern region of the entities.
Américo Villarreal, governor of Tamaulipas, emphasized the importance of integration and cooperation among border states to strengthen security for the benefit of citizens. The need to work together and strengthen ties to face common challenges was emphasized.
The agreed-upon actions include intelligence meetings to monitor the movement of crime and take measures to limit it, as well as to manage the migrant flow of compatriots crossing the borders of the three states. Cooperation among the entities is highlighted as fundamental to ensure security and facilitate the movement of the population.
