Controversy Over IMJUVE's Judicial Campaign

The IMJUVE launched a campaign encouraging youth to participate in judge elections, but many criticized it for trivializing the serious nature of the judicial profession, raising concerns about the campaign's approach.

Controversy Over IMJUVE's Judicial Campaign

The Mexican Institute of Youth (IMJUVE) launched a campaign through the X platform to promote the participation of young people in the upcoming election of judges, magistrates, and ministers of the Judiciary. The campaign features messages that emphasize the possibility of young people holding these positions and details the necessary requirements to be a candidate for each role.

The call for participation generated dissatisfaction among some users, who expressed that the judicial career is a serious matter that should be treated with the seriousness it deserves, rather than in a childish manner. The campaign, illustrated with figures of cute animals known as "ternurines," was criticized for its apparent lack of seriousness regarding the importance of justice.

Some users questioned the authenticity of the campaign, even commenting that it was fake. Additionally, an error was detected in the publication of the requirements to participate in the election of a District judge, where conditions not included in the constitutional reform to hold the position were indicated. Despite this, IMJUVE responded to the criticisms and highlighted the importance of youth participation in these official processes.
