Mirsa Berenice Suárez Maldonado was unanimously appointed state president of Morena in Morelos. She thus became the first woman to hold this position in the party's history in the region, ending the influence of Ulises Bravo, brother of the current federal deputy Cuauhtémoc Blanco, over the party.
The election process was conducted behind closed doors, with only the participation of party advisors and representatives of the national leadership. Suárez Maldonado, a trained psychologist with experience in the management of social programs, stated that this appointment represents the beginning of a transformation process in Morena in Morelos.
The team led by Suárez Maldonado includes Noemí Anaya Villegas in the Secretary of Organizations and Paola Cruz Torres in the Secretary of Finance. This change marks a break from the political group led by Ulises Bravo and reinforces the presence of Governor Margarita González Saravia in the party.
Suárez Maldonado expressed her gratitude for the support received and her commitment to strengthening the internal structure of Morena, building alliances, and engaging with the membership to face future challenges. The new leadership aims to consolidate a solid structure and unify the party's base in Morelos.
