Amazon Opens Second Distribution Center in Apodaca

Amazon has inaugurated its second distribution center in Nuevo León with an investment of two billion 500 million pesos (mdp). The center is located in the Municipality of Apodaca and is part of the total investment of four billion mdp that the company has made in the state. This opening entails the creation of one thousand 500 direct jobs and around one thousand 300 indirect jobs, as Samuel García mentioned during the event.

"With this project, around two thousand small and medium-sized enterprises have the opportunity to expand their businesses by uploading their products to platforms like Amazon, not only to sell in Mexico but also in the United States," García commented.

The Governor of Nuevo León emphasized the economic growth that the region has experienced in recent years. During his administration, investments totaling 68 billion USD have been attracted, positioning the entity as a national leader in this regard. He highlighted that in three years they have surpassed four times the amount of foreign investment received by the previous government.

Regarding the relationship between Mexico and the United States, García emphasized that, rather than being negatively affected by the change of government in the neighboring nation, it should strengthen. He pointed out that Mexico has become the main trading partner of the United States, surpassing China, and expressed his confidence that next year this partnership will continue to strengthen, favored by the implementation of the USMCA.

The governor also mentioned the benefits for local infrastructure, highlighting that, unlike last year, Nuevo León now has improved roads that will facilitate the fast and safe transport of products from the distribution centers. Amazon, for its part, aspires to become the leader in all states of Latin America, solidifying its presence in the region.
