Amazon Expands Operations in Nuevo León

Amazon has inaugurated its second shipping center in Apodaca, Nuevo León, investing over 4 billion pesos. This expansion supports local SMEs and creates over 300 jobs, enhancing economic growth in the region.


Amazon Expands Operations in Nuevo León

In Nuevo León, the second shipping center of Amazon Mexico was recently inaugurated, an event attended by Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda and the General Director of Operations of Amazon Mexico, Diego Méndez de la Luz. In his speech, Méndez de la Luz highlighted the importance of this expansion to provide a platform for entrepreneurs to sell their products nationally and internationally and grow their businesses.

The new center is located in Apodaca and has an area of 35,860 square meters, equivalent to six professional football fields, with the capacity to store over 900,000 products of various sizes. Amazon, which already operates 12 shipping centers and 24 delivery stations in Mexico, aims to strengthen its infrastructure in the country.

During the ceremony, the regional director of Amazon, Jesus Elizondo, the mayor of Apodaca, César Garza Arredondo, and the head of the Department of Economy, Emmanuel Loo, were also present. Governor García emphasized the importance of the Gloria - Colombia highway to improve connectivity and facilitate the transport of products.

Currently, Amazon Mexico generates over 1,300 direct jobs and more than 1,500 indirect jobs; with the opening of this new center, the creation of more than 300 additional jobs is expected. The company positions itself as a driving force for the local economy and e-commerce, promoting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the region.
