Violent Shooting Claims Four Lives in Celaya

In Celaya, Guanajuato, a gun attack at the bar 'El Capilano' left at least four people dead. This incident occurred around 5:00 PM, when armed men entered the establishment and opened fire on the patrons without warning, leaving the victims lifeless among the tables and bottles.

One of the deceased was identified as paramedic Miguel Santoyo Niño, brother of the head of Civil Protection in Celaya. Additionally, among the murdered were the son of the bar's owner and two customers. After the deaths were confirmed, the bodies were taken to the Forensic Medical Service, while local and state authorities expressed their condolences.

The authorities have launched an investigation to clarify this attack, although the assailants managed to flee the scene. This tragic event adds to the wave of violence affecting Guanajuato, where the murder of three family members was also reported in the city of León. The triple homicide occurred in the Quintas de los Castillos neighborhood, where three men were found dead by a girl in their home.

Additionally, in November 2024, another paramedic from the State Emergency System of Guanajuato was shot dead in Apaseo el Grande, along with seven other people in an attack on a business. Ricardo Eduardo López Ortega, a transfer paramedic assigned to the Cortazar sector of SUEG, was one of the fatalities of that violent day.
