Máynez responds to ‘Alito’ Moreno: ‘Your obsession is becoming more and more pathetic’

Movimiento Ciudadano's leader Jorge Álvarez Máynez denies accusations from PRI's Alejandro 'Alito' Moreno of fleeing during a brawl in Chilpancingo, calling his obsession 'pathetic' and criticizing his constant attacks.

«To defend Mexico and for our country to advance with a clear course», wrote Moreno Cárdenas. Máynez responds to ‘Alito’ Moreno: ‘Your obsession is becoming more and more pathetic’. Following ‘Alito’ Moreno's criticism of the brawl that occurred in Chilpancingo, Jorge Álvarez Máynez denied having fled the scene, stating that the video shows the opposite: after the shoves, he turned to see what was happening. “In fact, I waited for the scuffle (which had nothing to do with me) to end before leaving.” Alejandro ‘Alito’ Moreno, national leader of the PRI, accused Jorge Álvarez Máynez, national leader of Movimiento Ciudadano, of ‘fleeing’ during a brawl in Chilpancingo, Guerrero, and even told him that “if you’re lacking, I’ll lend you some.” After a video went viral showing a brawl breaking out just a few meters from Jorge Álvarez Máynez, and the former presidential candidate getting into a pickup truck to leave, ‘Alito’ Moreno criticized his stance, accusing him of being ‘lukewarm’.

“In Chilpancingo, a brawl broke out during his visit and he fled. The video shows it,” the leader of Movimiento Ciudadano responded. Finally, he criticized ‘Alito’ Moreno's stance after such an event and his constant attacks on other parties following the rejection of an alliance against Morena for the 2027 elections, telling him, “your obsession is becoming more and more pathetic.”

‘Alito’ Moreno's comments come as the PRI leader seeks an alliance with the PAN and Movimiento Ciudadano for the 2027 elections, although both parties have refused to form an alliance. Máynez's rejection of the PRI, both as a presidential candidate and as the national leader of Movimiento Ciudadano, has prompted negative comments from ‘Alito’ Moreno, who used the criticism over the brawl to recall the collapse of a stage in 2024 during a campaign event in San Pedro Garza, Nuevo León, where he once again accused him of ‘fleeing’.

“Mexico needs character and firmness. He fled... Máynez, if you’re lacking, I’ll lend you some!” the PRI leader criticized.
