Claudia Sheinbaum Discusses Judicial Reform Notification

President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that they had received the notification from Judge Nancy Juárez, who accepted an injunction for the elimination of the reform to the Judiciary from the Official Federal Gazette (DOF). However, when trying to open the notification, the QR code contained within the document did not work. During that day's Mañanera of the People, Sheinbaum Pardo humorously commented on the situation and mentioned that the notification could not be opened.

"Here is the text from the notary, it can be made public, it is notified that the notification does not open. Let's see what Harvard thinks about a QR that doesn't open," the president joked. She explained that the Legal Counsel received a notification with text that referred to a QR code that turned out to be unusable. Subsequently, Ernestina Godoy, head of the Federal Judiciary Council, requested notary 176 to certify that the QR did not lead anywhere.

Judge Nancy Juárez, from the Ninth District Court in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, had previously ordered the president and the director of the DOF, Alejandro López González, to remove the decree of the judicial reform published in September. The judge established a 24-hour deadline to remove the publication after Sheinbaum was duly notified, following the resolution of injunction 823/2024. In case of non-compliance, the Federal Public Ministry would be informed, and sanctions would be applied according to the Amparo Law.

During an event at Harvard Law School, there were laughs at the requirements to apply for judge and magistrate with the new judicial reform. In response, Sheinbaum stated that the election of the Judiciary would be an example for the world: "It is going to be an example to the world, although Harvard may say otherwise, the election of the Judiciary will be an example because it is the people deciding. It is my duty to defend my people, my country, my homeland, and all Mexicans," declared the president.
