Arturo “N”, also identified as José Israel “N” and known as “El Salsas”, was arrested and charged in Colima for allegedly being a financial and logistic operator for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) in the entity. The Government of the State of Colima reported that the arrest was made in the community of Alcaraces, municipality of Cuauhtémoc, where his companion, Samanta Sarahí “N”, was also apprehended. During the operation conducted with federal authorities, various bags of narcotics were found with the couple, including pills presumably containing fentanyl, methamphetamines, and cocaine. Authorities stated that these substances pose a serious risk to public health. “El Salsas” was in charge of collecting money generated by CJNG cells in Colima, transferring it to the organization's leaders, and coordinating logistical support between Colima and Jalisco. He was a key operator for maintaining the cartel's operations and resource flow in the region. After being handed over to the Public Ministry, a judge charged Arturo “N” with crimes against health for the possession of methamphetamines and fentanyl, in accordance with Article 195 bis of the Federal Criminal Code. A period was set for authorities to complete the investigation and determine possible links with other members of the criminal structure. The State Coordination Table for the Construction of Peace and Security in Colima reiterated its commitment to continue working for the security of the population, combating criminality and impunity.
