Yasmín Esquivel Mossa, candidate for Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, urged young people to be a fundamental part of Mexico's transformation into a fair and equal country during her meeting with students at the School of Higher Studies of Jojutla. During the conversation, she highlighted the importance of Rights and Justice as fundamental pillars of the struggle for equality and non-discrimination.
In this regard, Esquivel Mossa shared data from the National Survey on Discrimination (ENADIS) 2022 conducted by INEGI, which revealed that 23.7% of respondents admitted to experiencing discrimination. She emphasized that certain social groups, such as women, indigenous communities, afro-descendants, older adults, and people with disabilities, are more affected by this phenomenon, perpetuating privileges for some and disadvantages for others.
The candidate mentioned that the field of justice is where equality and non-discrimination must be guaranteed, and pointed out that the Reform of the Federal Judiciary seeks to address problems such as the protection of minority group interests, preventing justice from becoming an exclusive privilege for certain groups.
Esquivel Mossa assured her commitment to transforming the Judiciary into an efficient justice system that is close to the population, ensuring equitable access to justice and a future free of discrimination. In the context of the June 1 elections, she highlighted that 41 positions will be elected in Morelos, with the participation of 223 candidates aspiring to be judges, magistrates, or ministers, reaffirming her commitment to justice without privileges and a society without discrimination.
During her tour of the state of Morelos, the candidate plans to give lectures at the Latin University of Cuautla and the Morelos Institute of Higher Studies.
