Brother of Cuautla Mayor's Home Targeted in Two Armed Attacks

The authorities of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection of Morelos confirmed that the home of Marco, brother of Cuautla's municipal president Jesús Corona Damián, was the target of two armed attacks. To date, the state Attorney General's Office has not received any complaints regarding the incidents. The head of the department, Miguel Ángel Urrutia Lozano, stated that both incidents were reported by citizens to 911. The calls described detonations at a residence located in the Casasano neighborhood, prompting state police to go to the scene to verify the situation. According to official reports, in each event, bullet impacts were found on the building's facade. Following the police intervention, the State Attorney General's Office was notified to collect evidence and conduct the corresponding investigation. So far, no complaint has been filed by the alleged victim or the Cuautla City Council, and there has been no information about the opening of a case file related to the attacks. Cuautla has been under state command since July 2025, with the support of the National Guard and the Army, as part of a strategy to strengthen operations and expand video surveillance in priority areas. Jesús Corona Damián has been in the public eye since his campaign when he was the victim of an armed attack. Months later, he was mentioned again after the release of a video showing him with the mayor of Atlatlahucan and Jupiter Araujo Bernard, alias 'El Barbas', whom federal authorities have identified as a suspected operator of the Sinaloa Cartel. This material led to an investigation by the Attorney General of the Republic.
