The Public Security Secretariat of the State of Sinaloa reported the closure of a total of 11 clandestine laboratories located in Culiacán and Cosalá. These operations are part of actions aimed at combating drug trafficking at a national level and collaborating with the United States in the fight against fentanyl trafficking.
The operations were carried out by the Navy Secretariat and the National Guard in coordination with the Attorney General's Office of the Republic and the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sinaloa. As part of these actions, 11 clandestine laboratories used for drug production were secured.
At each of the raided locations, materials and chemical products used in the production of narcotics were discovered, according to authorities.
During reconnaissance work in the municipalities of Culiacán and Cosalá, military personnel identified settlements dedicated to the manufacture of synthetic drugs, where a variety of chemical substances and equipment such as centrifuges, strainers, jugs, drums, barrels, bags, condensers, and tubs were found, detailed the Public Security Secretariat.
In addition to the intense conflicts between factions of the Sinaloa cartel, such as the groups "Los Chapitos" and "La Mayiza", authorities continue their work to combat drug production and thus prevent its distribution at a national and international level.
The laboratories, located in areas such as El Bichi de Arriba, El Limón de Telleache, Copaco, Los Mayos, and Arroyo Grande in Culiacán, and in El Tecomate, El Vaso, El Saucito, and El Pozo in Cosalá, were dismantled comprehensively by the corresponding authorities.
These actions not only strengthen security in the region but also contribute to bilateral relations with the United States, a nation that maintains a firm stance against Mexican cartels and fentanyl trafficking.
