Mexico's Security Secretary, Omar García Harfuch, continues to signal rapprochement and joint work with the United States. On Thursday, he announced the arrest and extradition of Samuel Ramírez Jr., one of the most wanted individuals by the FBI, for whom a reward of one million dollars had been offered. According to authorities, the 34-year-old man had been sought since May 2023 for the murder of two women in a bar in Washington. The arrest was carried out during a joint operation in Culiacán, involving the Ministry of Defense, Navy, Attorney General's Office, National Guard, and Secretariat of Security. In turn, FBI Director Kash Patel praised the arrest, calling it a success under the leadership of President Trump. García Harfuch, for his part, did not mention Washington authorities and emphasized that the operation was conducted under 'mechanisms of international cooperation.' Consequently, the accused has been charged with murder and illegal border crossing. The same day, he was sent to the American city of Seattle, where he was received by local authorities.
