Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident, although Jesús Miranda Cárdenas, head of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Ecatepec, reported that six people received assistance for nervous crisis at the site.

The fire started around noon in a warehouse and a store of approximately 80 square meters that served as a shoe store within the plaza, located in the Las Américas subdivision. After receiving the emergency call, firefighters evacuated about 450 people, including employees and customers, and then carried out operations to contain the flames.

Subsequently, efforts were made to cool the area and remove debris in the shopping center to prevent a possible rekindling of the fire. Authorities from the State of Mexico indicated that the cause of the fire may have been due to a short circuit in the 'Las Vegas' store on the ground floor of Plaza Las Américas, in Ecatepec. However, further investigations will be carried out to determine the exact cause of the incident.

The head of Civil Protection mentioned that three more stores were affected by the heat within the shopping plaza, without specifying which establishments were involved. Social media users present in the shopping center shared photos and videos of the moment smoke spread through the area.
