In the context of the presentation of the Ecatepec SegurA Plan, in the municipality of Ecatepec, a series of measures have been implemented to protect women and combat gender violence. Among these actions, the creation of a security cabinet specialized in gender violence stands out, considered unique in the entire country and which will function consistently throughout the year.

The municipal president of Ecatepec, Azucena Cisneros, announced the launch of this cabinet that includes participation from various government areas, as well as representatives from the State Attorney General's Office and the Federal and State Women's Secretariats. This cabinet focuses on combating femicides, crimes that have seen a concerning increase in the locality.

Ecatepec is an area with high rates of femicides and has two Gender Alerts, one for femicide and another for the disappearance of women. In this context, the Ecatepec SegurA Plan focuses on the most vulnerable communities, such as Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Jardines de Morelos, Santa María Chiconautla, among others. These areas present various types of violence, ranging from domestic to patrimonial and sexual.

To curb violence against women, measures have been established such as the formation of a Violeta Network with 10,000 women in the territory, the creation of a specialized C4 for gender violence, an application to report violence directly, and a care system. These actions aim to provide comprehensive support to victims and prevent future cases of violence.

The mayor of Ecatepec also announced the implementation of various strategies to tackle gender violence, such as training on gender violence for public servants, specialized attention to victims, the renewal of police protocols, and an institutional analysis system. Additionally, emphasis will be placed on the protection of minors and adults who have been victims of femicide, as well as on ongoing collaboration with state and federal authorities to address this serious problem in the community.
