The Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Feminicides of the Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office successfully led a judge to link José Enrique "M" to a process due to his probable responsibility in the feminicide of his mother in Guadalajara. The events occurred on Saturday morning in the Moderna neighborhood of the Jalisco capital, where José Enrique allegedly attacked the victim multiple times with a knife in the abdomen and one of her arms due to conflicts over family inheritance.
After receiving a report via the emergency number 911, investigative police arrived at the scene and requested medical assistance for the woman. Despite the paramedics' efforts, the 82-year-old woman later died that same day due to the severity of her injuries. José Enrique "M" was arrested at the scene and made available to the Public Ministry for his statement.
The Public Ministry agent integrated the investigation file and presented the evidence, resulting in the judicialization of the case for feminicide. The judge declared the detention legal and decided to link him to the process, imposing the precautionary measure of preventive prison for one year, as requested by the State Prosecutor's Office.
