The government of Guadalupe celebrated Heritage Day in the Main Plaza, where homage was paid to the culture and historical legacy that represents our state. The mayor of Guadalupe, Héctor García, stated that the municipality's traditions reflect the daily efforts of its inhabitants. 'I feel very comfortable every evening when I walk through the Plaza because the people here in Guadalupe are good, hardworking, honest people who have built their lives every day to move their families forward. In Guadalupe, we were not fortunate enough to have anyone give us anything; we did it all ourselves, our little house, our heritage through pure work, through the pure effort of the people,' highlighted the mayor. As part of the celebration, a tribute was paid to bullfighter Eloy Cavazos, an icon of Guadalupe who put the municipality's name on the world map. Citizens who attended the event sampled typical regional dishes and enjoyed performances by the folk groups Corazón de México, Preparatoria 8, and Tecnológico de Nuevo León, as well as norteña music by Grupo Ironía and Dany Guajardo.
