The municipality of Guadalupe has become the first in the metropolitan area to fully comply with the guidelines established by the Ministry of Environment of Nuevo León. Zeico Rodríguez, director of municipal environment, delivered the file that was previously reviewed, confirming the local government's commitment to ecology.
"We are very happy because we presented compliance with the 11 indicators set by the state Ministry of Environment, and with this, we achieved being the first municipality to fully comply with them," explained the official.
Among the highlighted guidelines in the document are the Environmental Regulation, Risk Atlas, Waste Program, Emission Inventory, Energy Actions, and Reforestation Actions.
Brenda Sánchez, director of Climate Change Policy, was present during the delivery of the file and recognized the municipality's commitment to being a pioneer in complying with these areas.
The mayor of Guadalupe, Héctor García, reaffirmed his government's commitment to the environment to promote better environmental education and a higher quality of life in environmental matters.
This same week, the mayor of Guadalupe, Héctor García, and the state Secretary of the Environment, Alfonso Martínez, signed an agreement to use the platform of the Greenhouse Gas Emission Registry in order to prevent environmental contingencies, with Guadalupe being the first municipality in Nuevo León to do so, as detailed by the mayor of Guadalupe.
"It's a platform that will be very useful to us because it will serve as a measurement to know for sure about the businesses that should be urged to lower their emissions. All these actions are worth it to protect our environment and the ecosystem," said the municipal president.
