The municipality of Guadalupe has increased its police force with the creation of the Mounted Police, which will consist of around 50 personnel. The new division will enhance surveillance with 20 horses and all-terrain units in the high areas of Cerro de la Silla, along the banks of the La Silla River, and will provide support around the BBVA Stadium during football matches. Mayor Héctor García emphasized that the expansion of the Security Secretariat’s force fulfills commitments to the people of Guadalupe.
"We are starting with the mounted police, a necessary corporation that our municipality deserves, as well as off-road vehicles that will monitor the only living river in the metropolitan area, in addition to the high parts of Cerro de la Silla," explained the mayor. García mentioned that they will continue to progress to make security in Guadalupe the best in the State. The members of the Mounted Police were trained at the Municipal Academy and by equestrian experts.
On the other hand, rehabilitation and comprehensive maintenance work is being carried out on the pools in the municipality of Guadalupe, with an investment of over 3.5 million pesos just for the Olympic pool at the Cedereg Gymnasium. Mayor Héctor García reported that the work at the gym has progressed by 50%, alongside the Secretary of Sports, Severo Meza.
With the aim of providing suitable spaces for swimming practice for the benefit of children and young people, and considering the deterioration of the Olympic pool at Cedereg, a total rehabilitation has been undertaken. The reopening is scheduled for March, along with the rest of the municipal pools. The mayor emphasized the importance of seeing thousands of children and young people practicing this sport and highlighted the need for dignified facilities to promote their development.
