In less than 24 hours, members of the Municipal Police and the National Guard were victims of alleged criminal groups in the towns of García and Guadalupe.

Early on Monday, two members of the National Guard were injured after a shootout at the intersection of Juárez Street and Camino a Icamole in the Ampliación Cerritos neighborhood. According to initial reports, the officers were on patrol when they encountered armed individuals traveling in a compact vehicle. After signaling them to stop, the driver accelerated, triggering a high-speed chase. The alleged criminals began firing, and the attack was repelled by the National Guard. The driver lost control and crashed into a pole, allowing for the capture of a wounded suspect. Two National Guard members were injured, one by shrapnel and the other by gunfire, but they are out of danger.

On the other hand, the Government of Guadalupe strongly condemned the attack on Sunday against four Municipal Police officers, where two officers died and two were injured. The fallen officers were identified as Eduardo López Campos, 39 years old, and Francisco Montero Pérez, 44 years old. "This act of violence will not go unpunished. We will double our efforts in the frontal fight against crime and continue to work tirelessly to eradicate violence in our municipality," stated the municipal administration, expressing its support to the families of the fallen colleagues and assuring them that they will receive all necessary support. It was guaranteed that crime would not intimidate either the police corporation or the citizens.
