Traffic Change in Guadalupe to Improve Mobility

Starting this Monday, May 5, a change in the circulation of Zaragoza Street in the downtown area of Guadalupe will be implemented, modifying the direction from south to north in the section that encompasses from Hidalgo to Bravo Streets. The measure will be in effect from 06:00 to 15:00 hours, as part of a pilot action promoted by the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Urban Development, through the Direction of Traffic Engineering, in order to improve mobility during peak hours.

The main purpose of this modification is to optimize the movement of drivers seeking to reach Benito Juárez Avenue, especially during the entry and exit times of students from the José Eleuterio González Primary School, when traffic congestion is usually recorded. The corresponding signage has been placed by the municipal authority in the affected area to inform citizens about the measure, and the presence of traffic agents has been arranged to facilitate circulation.

In a different context, authorities from the municipality of Guadalupe held a tribute to General Ignacio Zaragoza on the occasion of the 163rd anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, in which the Mexican Army defended national sovereignty against French forces. In the ceremony led by Laura Paula López, secretary of the City Council of Guadalupe, the bravery of the armed forces of Mexico in the protection of national territory was emphasized.

"Today we gather in front of the monument of General Ignacio Zaragoza to commemorate a historic moment for Mexico, the glorious Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862," expressed the secretary of the City Council, highlighting the relevance of these types of tributes in transmitting historical memory to new generations and generating a sense of identity and belonging.
