The National Action Party (PAN) is looking to define the candidate for the alliance with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in Guadalupe in view of the 2027 elections. So far, there are no clear competitive profiles in the race.
Federal deputy Pedro Garza is distanced from the blue and white groups, while local deputy Itzel Castillo has not achieved the desired prominence despite her almost nine years in the local Plenary. Another possible profile in the municipality is Margarita Guerra, sister of deputy Mauro Guerra, although she has been away from the public and political sphere for several years.
In this scenario, Karina Barrón, a current official in Monterrey, has begun to talk about the possibility of forming a competitive project in Guadalupe, currently governed by Citizen Movement (MC). This movement arises due to the lack of prominent profiles in the PAN political landscape. Félix Rocha also competed in a local district but lost the election.
Due to the lack of solid figures in the PAN, PRI member Barrón is already considering starting to work in Guadalupe in the coming months with the goal of strengthening the tricolor brand after the decline caused by previous PRI governments that led them to lose the last election.
Although Barrón maintains her support networks in Monterrey, she believes that her chances in the capital are not so clear, as the PAN also intends to impose a candidate in the upcoming elections.
