León Delivers Transportation Scholarships to Students

The León City Council has delivered the second phase of the Transportation Scholarships, benefiting 2,516 students from primary, secondary, high school, and university. This support consists of a personalized card for the exclusive use of public transportation, with two daily trips from Monday to Friday, calculated according to the school calendar.

In this second stage, 2.9 million pesos were allocated, benefiting a total of 298 primary students, 561 secondary students, 754 high school students, and 903 university students. With this delivery, the total number of students supported in 2025 rises to 3,176, including the first phase carried out in January, when 660 primary and secondary students received the benefit.

According to the Secretariat for Social Strengthening of León, the budget allocated for scholarships has increased in recent years, with 83.4 million pesos assigned in 2025. In addition to the transportation scholarship, the Municipality offers other educational supports, such as the 2025 educational scholarship and the Lee-león scholarship, aimed at students with an interest in reading and outstanding reading skills.

Interested students in future calls can check the requirements and bases on the official page. With this type of program, the aim is to facilitate access to education and reduce the economic impact of transportation on León families.
