During this year in the Municipality of León, a total of 28,474 minimum payments of the property tax were made, equivalent to just over 300 pesos each. According to the Revenue Law for the municipality, the minimum payment established for this year is 369 pesos for those who acquired their home through institutions such as INFONAVIT or ISSSTE. However, in an effort to support certain groups, an even lower fee of 300 pesos has been set for senior citizens, pensioners, and persons with disabilities.
71% of the beneficiaries of these minimum payments correspond to senior citizens, pensioners, and their families, who have found significant economic relief in this measure. The remaining 29% is distributed among persons with disabilities, residents of homes purchased with financing from public institutions and civil associations.
To facilitate the process of property tax payments in León, the municipal government offers various options to taxpayers. Payments can be made in person at places like Plaza Mayor, City Hall, 7 municipal delegations, and Centro Max. Additionally, by taking advantage of digital tools, citizens can manage payments through the platform micarpetaciudadana.leon.gob.mx, quickly and conveniently, from any location and at any time.
The objective of this initiative is to alleviate the economic burden of vulnerable sectors of the population, as well as to promote a culture of voluntary and responsible payment among citizens.
