Bus accident in León leaves pilgrims injured

A bus from the state of Tamaulipas was involved in an accident in León during the early hours of Monday. The vehicle was transporting pilgrims heading to San Juan de los Lagos when it collided with the underside of a bridge in the central lanes of the Malecón. Fortunately, no one died in the accident, but several passengers were injured.

Immediately after the impact, emergency services arrived at the scene to provide assistance. The lack of signage regarding the maximum height allowed in the area may have been a contributing factor to the accident. The pilgrims had to wait for another bus to continue their journey.

The area where the collision occurred was temporarily closed while rescue and cleaning operations were underway. Paramedics attended to the injured on-site and transferred the more serious cases to nearby hospitals, including a pregnant woman who needed urgent medical attention. Among the injured were adults and minors, according to official sources.

Local authorities have already begun an investigation to determine the possible causes of the accident, including the possibility of mechanical failures in the vehicle or the lack of proper signage in the section of the bridge where the incident occurred. Despite the injuries sustained, all the injured are expected to make a full recovery in the coming days.
