In the first two months of the year, León achieved a collection of 1 billion 93 million 779 thousand pesos from property tax, reflecting the contribution of thousands of citizens. According to the Municipal Treasurer, Graciela Rodríguez, more than 324 thousand taxpayers made their payment before February 28, which represents a progress of 71% towards the annual goal set at 1 billion 544 million 128 thousand pesos.
"The trust of citizens in the management of resources has allowed León to rank among the top 10 municipalities with the highest collection at the national level," Rodríguez noted.
The collection was carried out through modules from the Municipal Treasury, banking institutions, convenience stores, and the PAGONET platform. Additionally, the benefit of a minimum fee for certain sectors of the population is maintained, with amounts of 384.04 pesos in general and 311.71 pesos for seniors, retirees, and people with disabilities.
In comparison to previous years, the collection for this first bimester exceeds the total annual amount obtained in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. Local authorities highlighted the importance of maintaining a culture of payment to continue investing in projects that benefit citizens.
During January and February, discounts of 10% and 8% were applied, respectively, as an incentive for timely payment. According to information from the Treasury, the revenues generated are allocated to public services, security, and urban infrastructure.
