CJNG Leader 'Comandante Galindo' Arrested in Mexico

Federal and State of Mexico forces arrested Ramiro Ulises “N”, alias “Comandante Galindo”, in the municipality of Malinalco. He is identified as a regional leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The detainee is also accused of his probable participation in high-impact crimes.

The arrest was achieved with the participation of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the National Intelligence Center (CNI), the National Guard (GN), the State of Mexico Security Secretariat (SSEM), and the state's Attorney General's Office.

According to investigations, “Comandante Galindo” is being investigated mainly for his alleged responsibility in the crime of express kidnapping for extortion, although he is also linked to other illicit activities such as homicide, human trafficking, deprivation of liberty, money laundering, hydrocarbon theft, and crimes against health.

“Kidnapping and threats to force drug transport”

The State of Mexico Attorney General's Office explained that the arrest warrant against him stems from events that occurred in 2025, when he allegedly participated in the illegal deprivation of a person's liberty, along with three other armed individuals. The aggressors allegedly posed as members of a criminal group with origins in Jalisco and demanded that the victim transport narcotics to Tijuana and Baja California, threatening to attack his and his family's lives if he did not comply.

In this regard, sources from the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office indicated that while trying to evade his capture, “Comandante Galindo” changed his residence from the East of the State of Mexico to Malinalco, from where he ordered the commission of illicit activities.

“Once he was located, federal and state security forces, in coordination with the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office, carried out an operation that led to his capture,” they stated.

After his location, federal and state forces deployed a joint operation that led to his capture, as part of the intelligence work of the Unified Command East Zone.

According to this security strategy, the detainee would be the leader of a criminal cell called “Operative Delta,” linked to a criminal group with origins in Jalisco, with a presence in municipalities such as San Martín de las Pirámides, Teotihuacán, Temascalapa, and Otumba.

After being apprehended, “Comandante Galindo” was admitted to a Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center, where a Control Judge will determine his legal situation.

The Unified Command East Zone strategy, which is applied in 15 municipalities in the east of the Mexico Valley, came into force on July 23, 2025, with the participation of authorities from the three levels of government.

The criminal groups operating in the Mexico Valley, including municipalities and delegations of the country's capital, are the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), with a presence in the northeast and east zones; the Gastones: responsible for extortions, kidnappings, homicides, and violent robberies in the State of Mexico and the east of the capital. The Rodolfos: dedicated to extortion, drug sales, and homicide; The Union of Tepito, in alliance with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, dedicated to drug sales, extortion, and human trafficking. The Catalinos, dedicated to extortion and drug sales and the Tláhuac Cartel: a generator of violence, dedicated to extortion and drug distribution.
