Nuevo León Implements Public Mobility Program

The "We Help You Move" program of the Government of Nuevo León aims to facilitate access to mobility and improve the economic conditions of people with fewer resources who depend on public transportation daily. Ten free trips will be granted per month in modalities such as Metro, Transmetro, Muevoleón routes, and integrated express routes. 30 million pesos will be allocated monthly to support this initiative.

Samuel García, the state's governor, emphasized the importance of this measure that seeks to provide equal access to mobility for all, regardless of their economic situation. "We Help You Move" will benefit vulnerable groups such as the elderly, women, and individuals with incomes below two minimum wages. The governor stated: "We will finally make that law a reality that many of you have been promoting for years".

Emphasis will be placed on the availability of modules to obtain the necessary card to access free trips, as well as on the variety of methods to recharge the balance, whether through deposits, bank transfers, or cash at Oxxo stores. Monthly recharges for the Muevoleón card will be possible upon the approval of the Fiscal Package by Congress.

With this program, the goal is to promote the use of digital technologies in public transportation, ensuring more equitable access for all citizens. The initiative complements the renovation of 1,600 buses and the modernization of the transportation system. "This 2025 must be the year where the issue of buses is substantially improved," said the governor, highlighting the importance of mobility in the state.

Beneficiaries will be able to activate their free trips through the Urbani application or via the Muevo León card, with registration modules available in various locations. This preferential rates program will also continue to support individuals with disabilities and minors, for whom the presence of a guardian is required during registration.
