
The head of the Dispatch Department of the Secretary of Economy, Emmanuel Loo, has shared that investments in Nuevo León continue despite the possible implications of tariffs that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, might impose on Mexico and Canada. According to Loo, investing companies have long-term plans, ranging from 5 to 20 years, which allows them to remain calm about short-term political developments.
In meetings with executives from various companies, it has been reaffirmed that the automotive sector is a leader in investment in Nuevo León, with companies from different sectors showing interest in expanding their operations in that region. Despite the political uncertainty, there is confidence in the future of investments in the region.
The state government is providing guarantees to small and medium-sized enterprises to protect them from potential adverse impacts. Additionally, efforts are being made to work with federal authorities to expand investment registration, aiming to facilitate and support investment projects, especially those related to Asian companies that are often not properly registered.
In an effort to support local industries, a plan has been proposed that includes extendable lines of credit provided by Nacional Financiera and backed by the state government. This would multiply the available resources, turning the 200 million pesos allocated into credits equivalent to 4 billion.
The continuous growth of sectors such as automotive, home appliances, air conditioning, and cooling products in Nuevo León is highlighted. Recognized companies like Caterpillar, John Deere, Carrier, and Gonher, among others, have expansion plans in the region, reinforcing Nuevo León's leading position in terms of investment and industrial development.
Despite concerns about possible tariffs and economic fluctuations, investments and projects in Nuevo León continue to arrive, demonstrating investors' confidence in the region and its ability to overcome short-term obstacles in pursuit of long-term opportunities.
