Nearshoring Opportunities Discussed in Monterrey

The Confederation of Industrial Chambers met in Monterrey to discuss the Nearshoring strategy in Mexico, highlighting its advantages, challenges and necessary reforms. Among the participants were representatives from different industrial sectors and local government authorities. They analyzed the competitive strengths of the country to attract more foreign investment, as well as the structural challenges and public policies needed to capitalize on Nearshoring.

In another area, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) evidenced a problem of unpaid debts from the federal government, specifically towards the cleaning company Ocram Seyer. This situation created tensions, as the unpaid debts exceeded 28 million pesos, even though workers claimed to have received timely payments. The incident highlights the need to address this issue and ensure the stability of services provided by companies contracted by government entities.

In a different context, the fourth date of L'Étape México 2024 was a success in León, Guanajuato, marking its inclusion for the first time in the Tour de France. Although there were doubts about security, the local government ensured the necessary measures to carry out the cycling event, which brought together nearly 1,500 cyclists of different ages and levels of experience. Companies like CIBanco supported the realization of this internationally renowned event.

Lastly, a cybersecurity incident affected the Centro Norte Airport Group (OMA), revealing vulnerabilities in its critical systems. Although the company activated security protocols and ensured the continuity of its operations, unauthorized access raises concerns about the security of essential infrastructures such as airports. The need to strengthen cyber defenses and ensure the integrity of technological systems becomes imperative to avoid more severe consequences in the future.
