
Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda and the coordinators of all local Congress factions met at the Cantera Palace to discuss financial and budgetary matters. During the meeting, García Sepúlveda emphasized the importance of focusing on priorities and expressed optimism about the progress made in the approval of the Budget and the new constitution.
It was agreed that a meeting will take place next Tuesday in the treasury to review the closing numbers and the 2025 Budget. The governor highlighted the need to address the budget crisis in the Executive and expressed confidence in making progress by the end of the year.
For her part, the President of Congress, Lorena de la Garza, mentioned that during the meeting past confrontations with the opposition were set aside and both sides showed willingness to resolve the issues.
Regarding the budget, it was agreed to leave behind the 2024 Fiscal Package, which left a debt of 15 billion pesos. The 2025 Budget is expected to be adjusted according to the needs of the municipalities.
Representatives from different factions emphasized the importance of moving beyond conflicts and working towards agreements for the future of state politics. Although no concrete agreement was reached regarding finances, it was agreed to negotiate the 2025 Budget and manage municipal resources equitably.
Next Tuesday, Treasurer Carlos Garza Ibarra will meet with the coordinators to address budgetary issues, while decrees and pending matters for approval will also be discussed. The need to work in consensus and set aside political and electoral differences to advance towards a broader and more beneficial agreement for Nuevo León was stressed.
