Since February 27, the Government of Monterrey has begun a pilot test of a new evening reversible lane on Avenida Paseo de los Leones. This measure will operate over a stretch of 3.6 kilometers, from the first sector of Cumbres to the fourth sector, a few blocks from Llave de Oro. It is emphasized that there will be no access or exits at intermediate points. The lane will be available from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
The reversible lane will be exclusive for light vehicles that can travel at a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour. Signage and traffic officials will be installed to guide motorists during the testing period. It is expected that this new lane will reduce travel time from 12 to 5 minutes in the opposite direction, as a measure to improve mobility on the main avenues of the city.
Mayor Adrián de la Garza explained that the testing period for the reversible lane on Avenida Gonzalitos was completed on February 11, deciding to keep it permanently due to the positive results obtained. This new modality provides continuous circulation from Monterrey to San Pedro, benefiting those who use the ordinary lanes in the same direction. The demand for this lane has significantly increased, reaching nearly 4,200 vehicles in use.
Within the Integral Mobility Program of Regia, the lane will be operational from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM, Monday to Friday, except for holidays.
