In Monterrey, a security operation will be implemented during El Buen Fin 2024, with the participation of around 350 members of the Secretariat of Security and about 6,000 cameras from C4 to ensure the smooth development of this event. During the presentation of the operation, Mayor Adrián de Garza mentioned that this year it is expected there will be more offers in Monterrey than in McAllen.
"If I remember correctly, I think this is like the 14th year we have El Buen Fin; take advantage that there will surely be better offers here than in other places, than in McAllen, than in the United States, than in Texas," the mayor pointed out at a press conference. Despite the dollar being somewhat more expensive, it is expected that the merchandise offered in Nuevo León will be of higher quality.
Regarding surveillance infrastructure, De la Garza highlighted that they have detected the loss of up to a thousand cameras due to "details" such as the loss of technical components, and they are working on restoring them. Panic buttons will be installed in high traffic areas to provide greater security to attendees.
In this edition of El Buen Fin, about 30,000 businesses will participate, an increase compared to the previous year, according to Héctor Villarreal Muraira, director of Canaco. An economic spill of up to 15 billion pesos is expected, and this event is promoted as an opportunity for families to acquire quality products at special prices.
Mayor De la Garza emphasized the importance of this event for the community and local commerce, promoting a virtuous circle of mutual benefit. A special operation will be deployed with more than 350 elements from the Police, Traffic, and other security bodies in different areas of the city, including downtown Monterrey and areas such as Avenida Garza Sada, Revolución, and Leones.
