
The television industry is mourning the tragic loss of Tomás Tamez, a 51-year-old actor who died under mysterious circumstances after being detained in the Florida colony for administrative offenses related to disturbing the peace. Tamez, who worked as a soap opera actor at Televisa and was a graduate of the Center for Artistic Education (CEA), was identified as a psychiatric patient and it was reported that he was intoxicated with illegal drugs.
Various personalities from the entertainment world expressed their sorrow over Tamez's sudden departure. Actor Miguel René Romero lamented the loss by writing: “My dear Niñi, rest in peace.” Tamez had participated in productions like ‘Picardía mexicana,’ ‘Gente bien,’ ‘Aventuras en el tiempo,’ and ‘El diario de Daniela.’ Presenter Rafa Mercante, for his part, dedicated some heartfelt words to him on Instagram, highlighting their friendship and comedic talent.
According to local reports from Monterrey, Tamez died in the courtyards of the Monterrey Police when officers were trying to take him into custody. Despite being asked to get out of the patrol car, Tamez did not respond, and a doctor who examined him determined that he no longer showed vital signs in the early hours of February 12 of this year.
