The non-profit organization Humind, dedicated to promoting mental health and preventing suicide, plans to construct a residential clinic in the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey (AMM), with an investment of 22 million dollars (mdd). Oscar de la Garza, founder and president of Humind, announced at a press conference that they estimate three years to complete the clinic and hope to open its doors by mid-2029. He highlighted the magnitude and ambition of the project, trusting in the support of the community.

"We have several locations under consideration; we haven't defined any yet. We want it to be a place that provides green areas, a space to relax, so we're thinking about locating it on the outskirts of the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey," noted De la Garza. He explained that the clinic would be located near Calzada San Pedro and Fuentes del Valle, with an estimated travel time of 30 minutes.

In Nuevo León, the shortage of psychiatrists and inpatient beds is notable, with only 320 psychiatric beds available and a need for more than 1,500. The new Humind clinic will have 50 beds, as well as specialized services and top-level clinical equipment. Fernando González Olivieri, CEO of Cemex and advisor to Humind, emphasized the importance of mental health, sharing his personal motivation.

"My wife and I got involved in this project because the issue of mental health directly impacted us. We experienced a family situation that led us to understand that the solution could not only remain individual but could become a contribution project to the community and society in general," expressed González Olivieri about the inspiration behind Humind's residential clinic.
