The renowned musician Joel Jáuregui passed away at the age of 59 in December 2024. The artist, originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, was the creator of the 'Fut-Rock' genre, blending elements of Mexican football with rock, and gained great popularity starting in 2006 with songs like 'Los reyes de barrio' and 'Campeones', which were featured on the Joga TV program during the World Cup in Germany.

Joel Jáuregui had been hospitalized for several weeks at Ángeles Hospital in San Pedro, awaiting a liver transplant. He had been suffering from liver cirrhosis for nearly twenty years, resulting from complications due to fatty liver. By the end of 2023, his condition worsened as he developed ascites, requiring drainage of fluid from his abdomen every 15 days. Despite being under treatment, his health complications increased.

With a remarkable musical career, Jáuregui released successful albums like 'Fanáticos Club Band', 'Canciones de Amor para un Mundo Imperfecto', and 'Despertando al Gigante'. Despite his illness, he continued to compose, releasing songs like 'Carne de Cañón' in 2023 and his last album 'La Resistencia de los Valientes' in 2024. His artistic legacy resonated in many hearts.

The football club Rayados, of which Jáuregui was the creator of the current crest, lamented his passing, highlighting his importance to the institution. Family members, friends, colleagues, and followers of 'Fut-Rock' also expressed their sorrow at the musician's departure.
