Nuevo León launches maternal health program

Governor Samuel García, the head of AMAR a Nuevo León, Mariana Rodríguez, and the Secretary of Health, Alma Rosa Marroquín, presented the program We Help to Care with Love, a comprehensive strategy to improve maternal health in the state. This initiative aims to support pregnant and postpartum women through home visits, medical follow-up, and emotional support.

During the presentation, the Governor highlighted the advances in the health system of Nuevo León, stating that the state is a national example in various areas. On the occasion of National Maternal and Perinatal Health Day, the importance of ensuring dignified, timely, and caring attention for every pregnant woman and every newborn in the region was emphasized.

García Sepúlveda recognized the work of the Secretary of Health by mentioning the significant reduction in maternal mortality over the last three years, decreasing from 55.1 to 19.6. Mariana Rodríguez, while presenting the We Help to Care with Love strategy, highlighted the commitment to support women from pregnancy to postpartum.

The program includes a maternal passport as part of the universal health coverage policy in Nuevo León. According to the Secretary of Health, the mission of We Help to Care with Love is to accompany pregnant women on a journey of health, self-care, information, and emotional support. In the words of the head of AMAR a Nuevo León, every pregnancy represents an opportunity to save two lives.

Alma Rosa Marroquín emphasized the importance of continuous and personalized support for pregnant women to prevent risks during and after pregnancy. The We Help to Care with Love campaign is a public health initiative with a firm commitment to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality in Nuevo León.
