Pitbull Attack in Monterrey School Injures Students

Three minors were injured and the director of a school sustained a forehead injury from a fall after a pitbull entered the school and attacked students in Monterrey. The incident took place on Thursday morning at Miguel Hidalgo Secondary School Number 9 in the Popular neighborhood of Monterrey, according to Civil Protection Nuevo León. The attack occurred approximately at 08:47 hours at the corner of Ramón Corral and Tañez.

Civil Protection reported that one of the minors was transferred by CRUM, while the other two made their own way to the hospital. Blanca Rodríguez Guerrero, the school director, suffered a forehead injury due to the fall during the incident. The pitbull, which is owned by Iván de la Cruz and is about six months old, was captured and placed under observation.

Although the pitbull breed has a reputation for being aggressive, it is not necessarily dangerous, as its behavior depends on the education it receives and how it is treated. Scientific studies suggest that pitbulls have a naturally calm and friendly temperament if raised correctly. Responsibility in raising a dog is essential to have a non-aggressive pet, as an improperly trained dog, even one with a calm temperament like a pitbull, can pose a danger due to its physical strength.

In the event of a pitbull attack, the consequences can be severe, with possible severe infections or life-threatening injuries, especially if the dog is not vaccinated against rabies. Therefore, it is essential to educate these dogs with love, patience, and positive reinforcement to prevent dangerous situations.
