Alejandra Morales Faces Political Persecution

The State Attorney General's Office, aligned with the PRIAN, managed to link Alejandra Morales, former candidate of Movimiento Ciudadano, to a legal process. In 2021, she was only 4% away from taking San Nicolás from the PAN after 35 years of governance. This act of political persecution is based on unfounded accusations, using an exaggerated criterion that undermines her right to free expression.

The only reason they decided not to imprison her was that Ale Morales is expecting a baby, and the PRIAN was not afraid of the political cost of imprisoning an innocent pregnant woman. Movimiento Ciudadano condemns this abuse of power and reiterates its full support for Alejandra Morales. Additionally, arbitrary and unnecessary precautionary measures have been imposed, such as periodic appearances before a judge, under the false argument that there is a flight risk.

"Alejandra Morales is a victim of a direct political attack, designed to disqualify her in the 2027 elections, where she clearly represents a threat to the PRIAN's system of privileges," stated officials from Movimiento Ciudadano. Both the Attorney General's Office and the Judiciary of Nuevo León sought preventive detention against Ale Morales.

"We will not allow the PRIAN machinery to continue trampling democracy in Nuevo León. They will not stop us! The change in San Nicolás is inevitable," concluded the political movement in support of Alejandra Morales.
