The governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, announced the progress in the construction of the new Civil Force building, which will be located on Morones Prieto Avenue. The land, valued at 150 million pesos, will house departments such as that of Women and 1,200 members of this security force.
José Francisco Gutiérrez, director of Fideproes, responsible for several state projects, highlighted that the 20-story building is 35% complete in its construction. Governor García expressed his satisfaction with the results obtained in terms of security, mentioning an increase in the number of inmates from 8,000 to 11,000 since the start of the state administration in 2021.
The construction progress includes work on the parking lot, the tactical building, installation of guardrails, columns, slabs, among other elements. García detailed that the new Civil Force building will have 20 floors and 650 square meters per floor, strategically establishing it in an area where a compact city is planned to be developed.
The governor emphasized the importance of modernizing and expanding penitentiary centers in municipalities such as Cadereyta and Apodaca due to the increase in the number of detainees. He also noted improvements in facilities with the separation of areas for women and men, as well as the implementation of spaces such as libraries and work areas.
Gutiérrez mentioned that the building's structure is already completed and they are working on finishing touches, focusing on aspects like guardrails, stairs, ramps, and flooring in the basement. The tactical building, which was the first to be started, is progressing satisfactorily. García referred to the new Civil Force building as the "cherry on the cake" and described it as a symbol of the new state police.
